I was thinking of writing in my lease something to the affect of "ceiling fans were left here from previous renter, landlord will not replace/maintain ceiling fans. 

I was thinking about getting a Equity Partner for this deal.

As soon as I heard about this program I knew I had to post about it because I think it might be helpful to many.

My question is, do you think it is still worth the effort to try and rent this out as a MTR?

Hi Ben, what is the reason you are not wanting your rentals to affect your DTI and why are you thinking they are affecting you? 

But the situation did get me to start thinking on how to properly analyze a small multifamily house.I've only invested in SFRs so I'm a little green when it comes to properly analyzing a duplex.

Therefore, the walls supporting the floor/ceiling also need to be protected. 1 hr. walls, so 45 minute doors and windows, I think.

We are thinking of buying an investment property in Puerto Rico and I would like to try to get a pre-approval before my trip there in October.

We are thinking about house hacking, but we've never lived in a multiplex type of neighborhood, so this is going to be really new for us, and cannot say that we are fully comfortable with it.
