I interface with them perhaps once a month at most, work in a different department/role so will not be assigned to the same project.

I spoke with the guy that heads up that department for FCI at a conference.

'Nuf said about that...I would start by checking out your contractor licensing department with your state -- ask them how they recommend you proceed, as they may have a recovery fund or something similar, but it may require you to go through a specific process. 

I think the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation should get involved.

For individuals and/or businesses, I will google their name, check the Washington Courts website, and check the website for the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.

I am curious if other real estate investors/developers on here have developed a "system" of how best to efficiently utilizing the City/County's different departments (Planner, Economic Development, Permits, Building,etc).

When it's time to depart, I should've earned around $30K to do what I want, investing wise.
