So much fraud went on in the short sale market when the banks had no idea how to handle all the volume that suddenly appeared that the rules of the game changed weekly it seemed.You used to be able to assign it using a land trust, an option contract or some other non-conventional title means.

Anyone can sabotage the financing simply by having their credit report pulled at a furniture store or two.Best policy is to have a good relationship with a good lender.Another point, if the buyer still wants the house add a sudden death clause to the purchase contract and realist it.

It sounds like they are freaking out because all the sudden you take over, and are jumping rent $150,  which to someone on a fixed income sounds horrible, so in there mind-- they're thinking "If you're going to charge me X, you're going to pay"... messed up, but that's  what I'd guess they are thinking.
