Are they just the venue and the food/staff/etc are provided by the wedding planner/couple? 

It's a mistake to put carpet in a bathroom, kitchen, dining room, or any space where there is a high risk of moisture and/or food spills.

Make some life adjustments and build a budget on needs (food, shelter, etc..) not wants (cable TV, the next IPhone).Then do it and show your family and friends with a plan.
