@William Luke Laity,there are several potential issues, first your involvement as a "disqualified person" may be a violation of the IRS rules, the second is that the retirement accounts are designed to be invested passively and all income/gains from active business may be subject to UBIT tax.

For someone who works at Taco Bell or is retired, this could be a wonderful opportunity for them. 

Borrowers have excellent retirement incomes from several source and good credit.

I have been watching a couple of webinars, etc. and finding the more I know the more I don't know :-)  My husband just retired and we are selling our home in SJ, CA. 

So if I didn't do it, 10 years later, I'm happily enjoying my retirement, someone can come and say, we found a leak from a tank in a property you sold years ago, and the cleanup is several hundred thousand dollars. 

I am 58 and want to retire from my regular job.

We are near retirement and looking at strategies to support that.

With that being said, I do see real estate investing as an opportunity to secure a comfortable retirement, and allow me to spend more time with my future family.

This PM has those fees regardless the price.My properties are at market rates(I did spruce them up with some fresh items-paint/hardware as I increased the tenant's monthly rate this last year :)  Maybe that shows my soft side but it softened the blowAgain, my worry is about possible legislation being put in place because of fees such as these.I am also not hating on PMs  They do provide a valuable service and when I finally do fully retire will be utilizing that service--although the old saying "No one cares for your property as well as you" creeps in my mind.Again, Thank you all for the discussion and making me think..."
