Newbies Here in Reno, NV

Hello!  I have been watching a couple of webinars, etc. and finding the more I know the more I don't know :-)  My husband just retired and we are selling our home in SJ, CA.  We are full time fifth wheelers living, at the time, in Reno, NV. We are wanting to buy a small multi-family property which our daughter will manage for us.  We are ALL new to the property owning/managing business.  We do have an agent and have been trying to analyze properties a little but I can see we need to do some more in depth research.

I just attempted to join the Nevada Apartment Association but got no receipt or confirmation e-mail!  That is concerning sonce I gave them my credit card info.  Did I just get scammed or has that happened to anyone else?

We're a bit nervous with buying properties to rent.  I'm thinking we should start with one well maintained property to start with.  We are sort of getting familiar with what areas are best.  Our agent has contacts he can share with us for inspections, etc.  We don't want to rush into anything but at the same time, it would be good for us to buy a property fairly soon once our house sells (listing most likely on Saturday!) for tax purposes (according to my smarter half).

We are the Owen clan.  My daughter lives in Sparks so she will be doing the main work once we buy something.  We'll be scouting for tips, advice, and watching webinars on Bigger Pockets!  Haven't decided to go Pro yet.  Thank you!
