You've probably heard of big Landlords losing property, but only because they were flagrantly violating Fair Housing, running a slum, or otherwise violating the law in an egregious manner.

Locally here there is more of a lending appetite for build to rent housing than build for sale "spec" housing.

I've not heard of mortgages including house insurance (things are different in the US). 

I usually dont even consider flood properties unless something drastic has changed, such as the house has been lifted several feet.
