The main house has two units and then there a detached garage with a unit above.  

Supply will eventually catch up to demand.   

However, I am not sure if I want to do real estate as my main job forever.

You can find 2% in some northern cities where population is declining and supply exceeds demand.  

I would be supplying the purchase price and the repair cost of this home   Once everything has been completed I need my purchase price back and repair costs back.

My main goal from this endeavor was to keep an invaluable asset (the house and land) in the family to create trans-generational wealth for my family. 

Even if you don't yet have the ability to flip houses or buy rentals, you still need to go through as many of the same steps as possible, so you can learn.You can do all this without quiting your main job too.

We’re looking at a deal, the listed disclosure says there’s structural issues and after speaking to the neighbor they said that the “main support beam” was cut during a previous renovation.  

Is cash-flow the main reason for investigating in FL (Tampa, cape coral, the villages etc)?
