We'd kicked around the idea of doing a house hack several times over the last 10 years or so but it never went beyond fearful curiosity until finding these resources.

People on BP have similar experiences and fears.

I'm afraid to say yes fearing they may charge high interest or something else.

I have heard that mistakes and fear can just be normal.  

I mean, every city's chamber of commerce site makes it sound like it's "experiencing a renaissance, an amazing rebirth, has a burgeoning start-up scene of high-growth tech companies", etc etcMy biggest fear is that I'll choose some small city in the Midwest and a year after I buy a property, the local plant will close and now no one can pay their rent :-/

Hey guys,My name is Sam and i've been pondering the idea of becoming a real estate investor for several years but because of my past situations and fear i never took the plunge.

If only there was a formula to get over the fear of jumping into the abyss.

I use combined income, but if I fear the tenant dynamic may change I pass on both applicants.

I realize interest rates are different, but my concern is that the interest rates are fine now, giving me cash flow, lower down payment (20 vs 25) than traditional.....but my fear is that it goes to 8-10% down the line.

Of course I have the newbie anxiety and fear but I'm ready to overcome that and be great!
