I'm looking to buy a home now but larger banks such as NFCU seem to want tax returns that show lower DTI numbers, which is causing me issues as the accountant provided substantial writeoffs on my returns. 

Buy-and-hold rentals provide a more stable option, with projected annual appreciation of 5-7% and a strong rental market driven by population and job growth.

Hey everyone, first post, new to the community, and looking to grow my knowledge (and wallet) to start buying in the next year or two.

I don't know any private lenders and hard money makes me nervous since I'm a buy and hold guy and the payback isn't as cut and dry as it is on a fix and flip.

Not to mention this is not counted as a legal area of living for owner occupied financing (if you're buying a multi unit).
