Any go to stores for cheap items that are durable?

I live in Harrisburg  and ride my bike through all sections of the city weekly. 

I'd look for houses on the metro lines and bike routes a couple miles out of the city center.

There is a garage attached to the duplex and fenced off as it appears that the owner is using it to store stuff, possibly a boat, etc.

Then again picking up & storing materials on-sale, scratch & dent deals, slightly damaged kitchen cabinets, vanities etc etc has been a major $$$ saving. 

Living in North Park you get a nice neighborhood vibe, you are close to Balboa park (great for dogs), and you are a short driving/biking distance from all the fun of downtown.
