Hello BiggerPockets world,I am a RE newbie and looking to begin building a portfolio. 

I still have a W-2, and might for several years, but back around 2010 when healthcare became mandatory, I was working for a small company that provided the world's most expensive insurance.

There might be plays in the commercial space right now with the effects of the pandemic, but I know little to nothing about that world right now.That's why i'm personally investing out of province (despite desperately wishing I could stay local)

I do have experience as a listing agent with Redfin buyer agents.The first thing to understand is that the RF model is that unlike the rest of the real estate world, their agents are paid a salary, get benefits and paid time off. 

We live in different worlds!

This is a perfect world scenario, but do you get the gist? 

I feel like I’m starting out later than some (I am 33) and It has not been easy finding my “tribe” of REI like minded people in the NWI area.My Niche is single family homes and Stratedgy is BRRRR-NB, looking in Michigan City and surrounding indiana Dunes area as more and more people are wanting to go on weekend getaways in the post Covid world, and for our first close by starter!

I'm continually amazed, that if you can dream it - and you TRULY believe when there's a will, there's a way - the universe has a funny way of making **** happen.The reason I share all of the above, I'm curious, what beliefs have YOU instilled to help you find success in this wild world of real estate investing?
