Selling House: Clever or Redfin

Tim Kanak
Posted

Hey everyone!

I'm selling an investment property in S. Florida (orange has been juiced).  Has anyone sold on Clever or Redfin?  What is your experience?  What would you recommend?

Thank you!!!

@Tim Kanak I don't have any experience with Clever, so I can't offer any comment on them.  I do have experience as a listing agent with Redfin buyer agents.

The first thing to understand is that the RF model is that unlike the rest of the real estate world, their agents are paid a salary, get benefits and paid time off.

The rest of the agent population eats what they kill. 100% commission, no expenses reimbursed, no PTO, no company-paid insurance.

Which do you think will work harder for you?  Mr. 9-5 employee or the 1099 agent who gets paid zero until he sells your property?

When I dealt with RF buyer's agents as a listing broker, I found them to be low energy and not especially committed to getting showings set and followed through.  I didn't quantify it, but my feeling was that they were a lot more likely to cancel showings than others.  In short, I wasn't impressed.

The company seems to have good tech and an outwardly impressive appearance, but speaking from my own experience, I really don't believe that their agents are all that well incentivized or professional.
