I was able to send one the other day, from someone's profile, that had a "contact me" link on it, but now any time I type someone's name in the "new message" window, it resets itself...I see the note that I can only send messages to one user at a time until I upgrade, but does that actually mean I can only have one active message thread at any given time? 

Even the good ones you find, pay them their price in time, and you might think you have developed a good relationship with them for future work, will disappear when you try to contact them for a future job in a good market.
