Some other pros would be weather, globally sought after, growing infrastructure across the state to accomodate high speed rail, space industry, we have several major airports, growing tech/medical industries as well as the ever growing theme park monsters that help to bring in about 70 million people a year here, we stay pretty purple with politics and very alternative lifestyle friendly, schools overall aren't great, but we do have some very good ones including prep schools/acadamy's. landlord friendly and so much more too!

Wanted to second this, the clients I have clients who leverage the benefit of 'cash closings' (speed and offer acceptance) but don't want to tie up their capital to wait on seasoning periods of most long term lenders (6 months or more).

But be sure to double check (call up the city or a local property management company in those areas and ask who can help you answer questions you have, like what their rates are, what does your cabin need to be permitted if the city requires it etc.).If you can get over those speed bumps, I'd say that Big Bear Lake is a solid place to make the right purchase that suits your needs. it is going to be very crowded this winter season.
