I feel that another benefit of building my own list is that my leads are as rock solid  as the administration documents.Ok, enough of the back story.

I'm more likely to use wood or some kind of cheaper flooring with give on an upstairs apt with subfloors that give and tile on a 1st floor apt with concrete subfloor that is rock solid.  

I have always been one to prefer to do thing right from the beginning rather than using temporary band aid solutions.

I used base rock (4-6 inches of class 2 base rock compacted at 2-inch lifts), an inch or so of sand, pavers, and a polymer modified sand (which has a little bit of bonding strength) to fill the joints between pavers and prevent weed growth.
