Today I went driving for dollars in a neighborhood that I haven't drive in before. 7 of the houses I found had letters in the window stating property has been determined to be vacant plus it has been winterized bla bla bla.how can I go about getting these properties and has anyone encountered this same type of situation .Any and all help with this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Around the holidays, I have sent Christmas cards or even given Visa gift cards or dropped of bottle of Wine/Vodka on Christmas Eve, since I most if not all of my tenants have children, I figured that the parents need something for themselves.

And be sure to check for freeze damage, even if the place was winterized, there still can be freeze damage to plumbing, boilers, hot water heaters, etc.Also check with code enforcement and see what they have on the condemnation.

For us, realistically we know we could be heating it all winter if we don't find a tenant so we have to keep some oil in it.

I am not a lawyer and do not play one on TV either but I worried about the same thing with my rental in the winter with snow.
