You can do this all on the side at your own pace with a full time job, and actually having steady employment is good for you when getting mortgages on property in the beginning. 

I am definitely interested in expanding my area at a comfortable pace.

@Kyler Pace What will the property be worth in a year vs what is the strike price on the option?

My situation is a little unique because we are looking to relocate back to east Idaho (slower paced life) and want to start investing in a duplex or 4 plex.  

See if those numbers are growing year-over-year, in sales at the same pace.
