Teamwork makes the dream work! 

My dreams: Owning enough rental properties to never miss a moment of my future children growing up.

I'm trying to build a portfolio and raise my monthly income and build a net worth also.I was thinking buy a 350k home, hold 3 years, rent it and buy another 300k home rent it and keep doing that to build wealth then sell them all and buy my dream home. 

I like where your mind is about using the first two houses' appreciation to buy your dream house later. 

But as Theresa mentioned, you’d be way farther ahead just buying the dream home now. 

- Couple of things (1) they are attempting to sell you a dream and lots are really marketers acting as investors and (2) they are not budgeting for any type of capex/repairs/maintenance  

Here is my back story, I quit my CPA job 10+ years ago to focus on buying MF and shared my story on BP:   I quit my CPA Job to buy Large Apartment Buildings As I was walking around my property, I had a feeling of wanting to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. 

Every real estate transaction I’ve been involved in (we’ve bought and rehabbed a couple of long term rentals) has been so enjoyable and I always think that if I could spend every day immersed in all things real estate it would be my dream job.

Holes in a couple of the doors.They left so many of their possessions behind, including furniture, I think in total it must have filled a 20-cubic-yard dumpster.Come to find out later, the tenant moved with their family into a whole new "dream" residence. 

I have lived in and renovated properties, buy, renovated and held properties, long term rentals, short term rentals and 8 years ago I achieved my first dream of leaving Corporate America.
