I'm looking for some guidance on how to go about doing this since my contractor quoted that the job would take 1-2 weeks and during that time there would be no access to the unit because there isn't enough room to put a temporary stairway while they are building.

Once you have this team in place, you should be able to invest in any market confidently.As for picking a specific market - I would go after one with an increasing job and population growth.

This is why job growth/fundamentals get talked about so often when choosing a market; put yourself where you have the most qualified applications possible for your home.With $100k down and assuming 20%-25% DP, you're looking at homes in the $350k-$450k range, with $400k probably being a break-even, at best.
