Hi Paul,Water pressure from the outside can be powerful and this may not be able to hold it back butif it's coming through the walls you might want to try a water blocking paint such as:DRYLOK Extreme Masonry WaterprooferDRYLOK Etch (surface prep if needed)DRYLOK Fast Plug (Crack Patching if needed)I've seen this used in similar situations.

I don't know what I would have done with that money had I not socked it away in the company plan at the time, but although in some ways I was ahead of my time in terms of money, I also got by butt kicked around professionally a bit, and ended up (looking back) owning a lot of liabilities (furniture, etc).
