With the internet and other MLS methods, I think they are becoming more obsolete for the DIY seasoned investors, yes. 

So at least that field of competition narrows a bit to those who are willing to DIY.

I'm with Cody on granite tiles, although I'm not sure about the numbers if you have to pay a contractor rather than DIY.

You can send a sample to be tested and find out if you have asbestos, there are also test kits at home depot for like $50 and you can test it yourself.  

I dislike those things, although they simplify behind-the-wall plumbing.So it's pretty damned bare-bones to my eye given how much you obviously spent on the tub+surround and especially the shower+surround kits.

I did have an interest before that but it mostly came from years of watching hgtv and diy network.

If you are going DIY, you're probably/hopefully NOT actually doing it all yourself.

Since then I’ve begun to DIY the shower in the top unit, replacing the drywall and tile.

If you’re a DIY person, because you like to save money, allow me to challenge you on that for a second….Let's say you need your cabinets painted.

Don't delay any further and don't try and DIY it.
