The mortgage has gotten out of hand due to property tax increases, miscalculated escrow, and an increase in my interest rate from an initial buy down, increasing from $2600/mo to $3200/mo.

At a certain point it becomes a lot of work but you can outsource a lot of the work by hiring VAs which is way cheaper than a management co (definitely not as hands off though) 

Im more a hands on learning definitely and as far as living in a unit i couldn't yet because its out of the kids school district  plus the limited space. but thats the goal, to buy a small air or inn to manage and run for work while still renting in our district and then looking to buy since we're renters again!

It could be quite lucrative and hands free as long as you have the right systems in place.
