@Gail WhiteSo getting back to where we're at, late 80's built house, so no asbestos, popcorn ceiling, I would scrape it and expect to find a lousy or nonexistent finish job underneath it.Lay down a 3-mil-or-so plastic sheet in the room if you have reusable canvas down.
