Hello Dana Happy New Year to you too.So how we have a few rentals as well and we when we wanted to pay them off, we took all of the extra cash we could spare and put it towards the property with the lowest mortgage.

The way I plan on presenting this is that it would a) spare them from having an actual rent increase and b) give them the ability to control the cost as they can control their water usage (in case they have been more wasteful than they could be).

We typically need 3,500 - 4,000 sqft of open space (no need for a roof as long as we stay in SoCal) in the backyard to take photographs, store, and service our machineries (small, compact 5,000 to 12,000 lbs weight excavators).

I plan to start making flights out to Columbus in early February for pre-construction and to meet the team and look forward to doing a little driving in different parts of the city in my spare time.

My only tactic so far is to ask relatives if they got some spare change lol. 

I plan to rent for a few months, get a feel for the area and then hope to purchase a home sometime around next January and rent out any spare bedrooms I have for a few years until I become more established in my career.
