With all due respect to those who say you must have money to start(or at least your own), I think I may be the mythbuster to his scenario that the no money start is a myth.When I first started, it was 5 adults and 3 dogs living in a motel room. 23 years old, No job, no cash, bad credit.

However, there are downsides to include the wear and tear of multiple adults in the property instead of a small family or couple.  

I've worked in the Customer service industry for most of my adult life but I've been interested in real estate for as long as I can remember.  

In my area, if the house is foreclosed on and they want the tenant to vacate, they have to pay $10k per adult on the lease to get them out.  

Even if adult kids in the basement is a norm, adult kids with families in the basement is still not in my view.As the generation gets employed, forms families, and is able to save the downpayment, I think they will buy in many markets, they are just delayed some in my view by economic and other factors...

But if there's a bedroom being used as an office, or a former kid's bedroom now being used by an adult, it can come into play. 

At times I wonder if, since entering adult life, my competitive spirit has died. 

We treat tenants like responsible adults and allow them to live up to our expectations. 

Now that I am finally working as an adult, I want to learn as much as I can on how to start investing in real estate.
