Somehow some agencies and volunteers came out and cleaned and treated the roaches - I repaired the plumbing (plumber changed his clothes in the yard afterward the roaches were so bad) and window.

I'm one of those that doesn't charge for the initial meeting but, as Steven and Michael both mentioned, the initial meeting is just to see if we're a good fit.The first thing I ask is "tell me what you've got going on" and then I let them free form for a while.This tells me how organized they are, how sophisticated they are, etc.
