There are pros & cons with both and it truly boils down to what each individuals goals & passions are, but I've found that investing in the syndication model and group investing with a club is by far much more my speed for passive income. 

We have no need to grow, or at least not to grow at breakneck speed.

If he has an in-house team that is large enough, he can easily add more workers to speed up the project as long as he isn't spread too thin because he is working on multiple jobs.If you hire a good contracting team that you can trust, you won't have to worry about micromanaging them.

It's literally what they do all day everyday and they've got lifts, stilts, taping machines, etc. to speed up the process. 

Any bit of advise on speeding up the time when it comes to vetting tenants, planning showings, and answering questions would be really helpful. 

If you used that cash to renovate again it may have helped speed up the value to take the cash out to buy once a new home.FHA doe carry MIP but you can eliminate that on the refinance in 12 months if you target the right home. 

The goal is to get to 10-15 that cash flow 500-800/month, it takes a while but for each one I add compounding just speeds up the next one.
