I am currently fixing up my live in home with plans of renting it out by the end of the year and purchasing another property to live in.

I lost that deal, and ended up buying another home directly from the listing agent. 

Perhaps you can find a deal post election but there are going to be other underlying reasons why the particular market is now depressed, not solely election outcome based. 

Bummer. he can sell it no problem just cant get title insurance.. so unless your buying it to flip who cares just buy it and enjoy it.. and during that process just sue for quiet title.. take some money and time but that would clear up the title. there is a very prominent BP member that buys tax sale and other title issue props in SC he gets them so cheap because you cant get title insurance at least at the time he buys them and then just rents them out.. its a winner.. no one will ever come back on him or you ..

Part of the reason for this is that this past year was a tough year for my Dad, as he lost his father, and there was an unfortunate legal battle (which has since calmed down), with an unfortunately uncommunicative sibling in charge of the estate. 

I just did a Search of BP using the search button for "Brooklyn Property Manager" and filtered by members.

I would recommend starting by just working up deals.
