Actually for the people living here, it has become VERY UNaffordable.

At the time, we were living in our other duplex.

We would plan to “live and flip” (live in it for 2 years to avoid capital gains) while we rent our current home. 

I have been successfully renting out 3 rooms in my single family home while living in the unfinished basement for a little over two years now.

The government (so far) will not force you to live with people you don't get along with.Likewise, you don't have to subject yourself to the health risks.

I don't live in the US and I don't have another income in the US (such as employment or earned income), but I have a property that was rented starting in September 2023.

And when the music stops it’s usually crickets, as many LPs are embarrassed to admit the losses and the syndicators prefer a hush hush environment (which is why some LPs don’t want to name them.)Personally I have always found syndications too risky, especially given that I have zero control, other than reading their disclosures and trusting in their accuracy.

Finding someone that is trustworthy that will do all of that while you are living out of area, and providing money and the lot has value.
