My contractor is going to the house next week.  

The work was done after we closed because the contractor was not able to get to it for several months.

In other words,  you've paid twice.I would prefer you make them pay full rent and then pay them for services rendered just like any other employee or contractor.

Basically my ex contractor forged deeds to homes I owned in NJ and applied for the SOTO program with NY to place tenants in those properties.

And enjoy some more space with your growing family.

In that case, price out one week (or however long your contractor promises) at a local moderately priced hotel.

I like modular home because of relatively shorter and firmer timeline and fixed budget where contractors don’t hold you for ransom but this works only if you know the design that is going to work.
