My name is Chris Beck and I reside in SellersvIlle, a small town located in Bucks County, Pa.

Once you buy it and put a renter in it, you might flip out because you won't get the Smith's  home-owner/primary-residence discount and your property taxes can pop up 2x, 3x or some other amount depending on where you buy. 

I am very new to real estate and the only experience I have is from buying my primary residence back in 2014.

(If not, and you live in a state other than Texas, reach out to US Bank and leverage your house and borrow at 5%, can't find money that cheap anywhere, and that's not a plug, just wish someone would have let me know that when I resided in states other than Texas!) 

This is the same case with our primary residence...the loan is in my name only, but the title is under both of us.

I could not imagine trying to get out of La Jolla (or Coronado) if all of the residents were to be evacuated at the same time.

My wife and I are considering buying our first primary residence soon (within the next year).

What if things change after closing, i.e. change in job, death in the family and you no longer will use the property as you primary residents.

My husband and I are trying to decide if we should use this as our primary residence.

Speculation on appreciationI'm currently looking at properties like this because I need a primary residence, but they certainly aren't investments.
