People can sue for anything and they do.

I work a lot in this space, and I've seen too many people get burned relying on someone else's numbers. 

Unfortunately, all hosts are dealing with it, and we have decided it's because people are still traveling, don't really have the money to, yet still travel figuring they'll get their money back one way or another.

I understand the arrangement is certainly different, but from a practical standpoint it isn't much different than a licensed GC staffing a team of laborers, who are actually doing all the work, and the GC checking in on quality of work.
