I am not sure of the exact laws with a suit to partition and judicial sale, but maybe you can recoup your expenses (the other 99% of the tax bill you paid) through that suit when the property is sold.

I asked if anything else was required and a hours later they asked for income verification, ID and a hardship form (all of which I have already uploaded for myself) so I redid them all for myself since I'm the only adult in my household...The next day, I'm told again, it was required for my daughter!
