The financed amount was less than what was originally on the estimate, so the difference in the numbers meant we needed to pay more upfront.

You are meant to keep security deposits in a separate account, but as long as you pay them interest on it, it really doesn't matter. 

These are all for short term loans, they aren't meant to "live" in.  

For this reason, the community can come together and create rules and laws that may be viewed as unconstitutional outside am HOA but are meant to maintain the quiet enjoyment and security of the established cooperative living experience.

I would also recommend looking at the county's website/public records to find out who owns the house next door to you. agreed do NOT equity share your personal resi.. maybe you meant equity share the house you want to buy.. if that is the case then its a business transaction and one that will be tough to do unless its friends or family. if its a vacant house the play here is to find the actual owner and try to buy it on contract..

I think you might have meant that with your "downpayment fees" but not sure.
