STRs are a different animal and require special insurance.Like @Sarah Kensinger said, Proper has the best coverage and that is what we use.

The application fee ideally eliminates applications that are likely not to meet our criteria (as well as those with bogus Emotional Support Animals (ESAs)).I question if the large fee was a holding fee.   

I know of a few hosts in Canada and from what I've heard STR are a whole different animal up there!

While they share the same name, they're very different animals.

Costs add up quick.However from my experience structural and foundation systems are a different animal in this regard and I don't think it's reasonable or defensible for a regulatory jurisdiction to take this stance. 

Beware, that VT is a different animal and although most DSCR brokers can do all 50 states you might be better off someone who knows the local area.
