Know too, it's political, depending on whose toes you're stepping on, it may take a lot of money, studies over time, insurance assessments, engineering reports and time proven alternatives to get changes made in the municipal arena.Yes, I rain on everyone's parade, but wish you luck.

I have studied investing (primarily stock market) for much of my life but have in the past not done a good job getting a base below me so I can really apply that knowledge in earnest. 5 years ago just after remodeling a home with stone walls built in 1900 with a naive understanding of what the costs and time inputs would be, the housing crash happening right in the middle of this, persevering and turning it into a beautiful home.....Then I was laid off.

This may be because they do have more privacy to trash the place, and there is more square footage to trash per unit.You've discovered the podcasts; my other advice is to stay active on the forums, start thinking about what you want your landlording policies to be (don't just focus on property selection, but what you'll do after that), and set up some key word alerts to hear about the geographies or topics you are interested in.

They are the only thing I've really had time to dig into since I got on BP because I've been in real estate school and studying for my test but I take it Wednesday so hopefully I can get that responsibility out of the way and focus on more important things like finding deals!
