In your defense, I have noticed that if I ask enough CPAs the answer to this, I will get different answers, so I get the impression that the law is complicated and not black-and-white.

So I was under the impression that you could add any improvements to the property and things like points paid during the purchase price and depreciate that total price.

I think it's a great strategy you're going in with I just wanted to make sure you weren't under the impression that SFR are valued in the same manner as commercial.
