If you are a good operator that responds to dangerous habitability issues when notified, I think that fear is blown out of proportion.

What not to like about PEX, taken from page 6 of next link:"Do not spray on or allow organic (petroleum-based) chemicals, petroleum distillates, termiticides or pesticides to come into contact with PEX pipes, otherwise permeation of harmful chemicals may occur through the pipe wall and contaminate drinking water."

My guess is the increase in taxes would not put it can't in the debt which only leads cuts in our spending habits.

Tax value has it at $80k+ for a unit I paid $37k for that needed little work and I think realistically might sell at $65-70k now that it is clean and habitable (I put about 4k into it).

Michele:  That sugar thing is very difficult to shake as ANY habit is.
