It just seems like people are in a rush to get everywhere, so stressed, and not into the same way of life that I am, the weather is humid, and the cost of living is high.I have always taken the safe route in life, rarely taking chances and also foregoing experiences/vacations until last year.Ever since I was a child, I felt an attraction to the West, specifically Colorado.

She's 75 now and it is uncertain if she would be able to still live on her own long enough be safe from Medicaid forcing a sale to cover her long-term care expenses.I've considered buying it from her and she pays me rent, but there seems to be some legal issues with that.I've read some comments about a trust, but any insights would be welcomed.

@Toby Johnson Hi Toby, with little cash and being your first property, you are better off investing locally since your dollar would go much further here as San Diego is a safe investment in the long run and you can put as little as 3.5% down on a $1M duplex.
