This is a project that requires a city permit FYI, but if you are installing windows on a house you live in, you can pull the permit yourself.My husband and I replaced all the windows on the house we live in now - it was one of our first renovation projects.If you hire a contractor usually they will want to purchase the windows themselves, and that cost is included their quotes along with the labor cost for installation.

My advice for newbies is always to do as much research as you can (and @Casey Miles made a GREAT point about being aggressively patient) but to take the time to ask yourself (and your family) and few important questions to help weed out options and prevent analysis paralysis.

I've been called that from about 6yo.My personal preference is to start small but not knowing to much about the game here is limiting my view on how far I can make the 200k go without being able to borrow funds (and which market I ultimately choose to invest)I have completed a 2 page business sketch stating that I'm happy with 2-3 projects in the first year as I'm not putting a ton of pressure on myself time wise.
