It is also quicker to scale actually because there is less work involved in modifying it as you change and adapt because you can just keep it on a notepad filed with each tenant's/propery's folder.

J:Modular building construction is far more common in Europe and other parts of the world than here in North America ... but still comprises <25% of new construction even in those places where readily available (to the best I've been able to uncover thus far).3D printing on the scale of buildings is still in its infancy, but interesting results are already being produced.

On a larger scale, by playing on the sentimental and empathetic nature of an owner, where the land had been owned since the Civil War (zero basis) and desired the use of land to benefit lower income clients, the owner was elderly and knew the use of the farm that was inside the city limits would change, it became a manner of ensuring how the property changed, BTW, this owner kicked in cash for the development as well.
