It's not uncommon that the master bathroom is a 3/4 bath (i.e. has a shower instead of a bathtub) but if you have both already, it would take a lot for me to want to spend the money to remove the tub just to expand the shower.

In all reality it won't make you any money but it provides an amenity to your renters and will cover the expenses for the utilities it uses.
