As most have already said, as long as you haven't accepted them yet, you should be fine as long as your decision follows the Fair Housing Act (meaning you're declining of their application is not based on Race, Color, National Origin, Religion, Sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), Familial Status, or Disability).

Details matter, and this is certainly one minor item that would never be routine, but, with new paint throughout including doors and trim, the old hardware will look MUCH worse.- Why are they painting all of the kitchen cabinets?

I routinely get the tenant call for a bad garbage disposal, plugged sink or toilet, stove burner that doesn’t work, window crank that’s stripped, even a light that’s not working (and it’s the light bulbs), change the locks, leak under the sink, etc., etc.
