There is always opportunity somewhere at some time you just have to find it and exploit it.I talk to investors constantly all over the country and everyone has a different take on things and how they want to live now and what retirement means to them.  

Growing up like most people, I was taught to get good grades, get a good job, and work 40+ hours a week for 40+ years so one day I could have enough money to pay myself passive income and retire. 

I'm looking at a retirement community that I want to turn into a 5 plex. 

My goal would be to see what I could make in real estate with a few dollars and maybe use it to replace my job when I retire (hopefully 25 years).At the moment I'm renting so my thought is to buy an inexpensive condo (~50K) to live in for a couple of years while I add to my savings, and then see where I go from there. 

Hello to Everyone, I am a single female mother looking to retire in the next few years from my rental income.

At that point I will consider a combo of selling/holding in order to meet the ultimate goal of purchasing  a retirement home in my beloved home town of Santa Cruz California to be close to my family again while maintaining a seasonal property back on the east coast to be able to spend time with my kids and extend family here.I am looking forward to learning more and meeting others who share similar interests here on BP!

How long until your retirement??

I figure if I'm able to reach this goal and hold and let the tenants pay of the mortgages, I'd have considerable net worth and plenty of cash flow in retirement.

I have recently retired and am looking to use appx $150K of my IRA for Real Estate Investment for funding a property purchase through a Real Estate Broker Firm (a relative of mine whom I trust).

There is Russian saying (in my free translation) "Friendship is friendship, but keep your money separately", something like that - you get the meaning.A retired soldier I knew gave me another version, "Trust them with your life, never money or your wife."
