I am not at all competent at legal matters, but the fact that you had a contract and then tried to basically pull a sneaky on the wholesalers may suggest you need a little extra legal help than normal.

This PMI will stay with you for the life of the loan, so the only way to remove this would be to refinance - another expense.Lastly, you'll be competing against other investors with 20%, 25%, 40%, all cash, etc.

Agree with the others, the contract is between the PM and current owner and the current owner is responsible for terminating.If it were me, I would reach out to the current PM (if they seem competent from what you've seen) and introduce yourself.
