My knowledge of the RTC is limited to the wiki page and a few vague memories.The programs the RTC look a lot like bulk REO deals where the RTC retained an equity stake in the package, and provided financing.

There is a TON of knowledge out there in your local community and people who are willing to share it.You can also save the buyer side commission when you buy a place and you can typically even save the listing fee as well.
