I LOVE vintage homes, so I keep a close eye on the greater east end/ 2nd ward (specifically eastwood, broadmoor, idlewood, lawndale, and oak lawn) and more recently the activity on the near north (north-side village up to lindale park) has caught my attention.I'm looking to connect with anyone that's active in these areas, find out how I could get involved, would love to see a rehab of a 100 year old house in action! 

I agree with @Patricia Lowe look up the Flagler Arts Village, and also Downtown Hollywood.

Complex name is contemporary village.

I am also looking at EaDo (east downtown) and Ive see the North Village/Heights has a new event space and rail link being built and new construction is going up.  

There are also portions of Maryvale and South Mountain villages with 1995+ construction that can be had for reasonable prices, though not sure how expansive the "B" areas are those communities.

As Detroit continues on its revitalization tour, get to know the up-and-coming neighborhoods where you can still buy properties for rent and have a good chance of success.Today I’d like to highlight three Detroit neighborhoods you should know about: East English Village, Jefferson Chalmers/Creekside, and Cornerstone Village/Belgian Triangle.East English VillageDeveloped in 1913, East English Village is home to brick homes with character, built in the early 1930s through the 1950s.

Talking to the village has been our best source of that type of information and just being upfront with the zoning and permits division.
