I figured it was worth a look and this is what I have found so far.I started by searching for foreclosures in my local area, for me this is Collin County Texas with a focus on Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Dallas, Sherman, and the north suburban DFW area.

Have you considered cities like Denton, Plano, McKinney, Richardson, Aubrey, Sanger, and the smaller towns around? 

I am new to BP in Dallas Texas (Plano specifically) and interested in networking and learning all there is about the wonderful world of house flipping.

Now if I type 'Dallas, TX' in city-data.com, it'll give data for Dallas 'city', which will exclude nearby popular cities like Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, etc.So is there a better way to get data where the region can contain a bigger area, rather than looking at data for individual 'cities' ?

Bought a 3 bed, 2 bed house in Plano that has done pretty well and I rented out the bedrooms for four years that covered the entirety of the PITI.

Most of the properties are located in Northern Collin County (Plano, Allen, McKinney, 160K-200K) and two are located in Cedar Hill (120K - 150K).

So for example there were lots of big employers in Richardson and Plano. 

Hello, I am interested in investing in real estate in Dallas, TX because it looks like a cool place.I am looking at the Plano, Carrollton, Garland region as well as Crowley near Fort Worth.

The median home prices in Fort Worth are generally lower than most parts of N Dallas and Collin County (Frisco, Plano, McKinney).

If I move there, I would choose frisco, denton and some parts of plano.
