I do agree that a national sales tax would tax criminals of all sorts, but the negative aspects of it far outweigh that benefit.

Maybe there are electrician, plumber, roofer in the area, who'd love to see this change.Getting great terms from a seller can outweigh price in some cases

I'm an agent now, and the stories of people who regret not getting an inspection greatly outweigh those who got one then regretted it later. 

Of course, there are downsides like locking the money up (to some extent), the limited investment options likely offered, and reducing your take-home pay but they're often outweighed by the match.

Yea I've thought about taking up the Wall St Journal or even my local paper just to keep abreast of my market but it seems like at the negativity would outweigh any potential value add.
